Students were asked to design and illustrate a full-sized poster that promoted a real or fictitious event. The poster could include events such as a band concert, a theater play, or even a movie screening. However, the design had to incorporate dates, times, and locations in a clear hierarchy. After choosing a concept, students then were asked to hand illustrate the poster using transfer paper and alcohol-based makers. The final product was then scanned and printed at a standard poster size.

Shakespeare’s Macbeth was what I chose for this project. I created fictional dates for a showing of this play at a local theater.
