COMIC BOOK CONCEPT ART

This is a compound project. Both utilizing school projects and personal projects the following is conceptual art and design for a comic book/graphic novel named Famelicose. Famelicose is an original story and concept by me.

The poster not only works as conceptual poster art for the comic but also works as a potential cover for the graphic novel. To create this piece I utilized techniques of conceptual drawing and step-by-step comprehensive pieces. The line art was created first. Then a value comp that needed to be grayscale. After that, a rough color comp was created showing a close idea of what the final would look like. Finally the final was presented with refined details.

Comic Page

The comic page is also a comprehensive idea of what this graphic novel might look like. This singular page features a sequence that tells a story while also giving some world-building to what might be a more expansive story. This comic was also created using proto-photo methods. The sketch and line art were both created physically with mediums like fine liners and dip-pens. After this was finished the dried line art was scanned into a digital space where the page was then painted and finalized.
